4 or 5 Speed Automatic?

For you guys with automatic Corollas do you notice that we actually have five gears or is it just me? If I put my shifter in '3' my car will pass thru 4 gears then when I click over to 'D' it will rev down into 5th gear. Interesting...

3 mean 3rd gear. I'm pretty sure its in ur head... It even says on the brochure when u buys it 4-speed automatic.

The "5th gear" that you feel is actually the torque converter locking in as overdrive...

Toyota says that you have a 4 speed automatic.

Only Corolla that came with a 5-speed auto is the top of the line XRS.

the adaptive auto is pretty cool tho. it shifts into the next gear pretty close to how i would drive a stick, but faster.

You must shift quite slow then.
