Sound Deadening Material

I haven't really noticed a substantial problem with outside noise but the vehicle could definitely be quieter. I was thinking since I'm going to have the doors and rear deck apart anyways maybe I would throw some sound absorbing material in there, and maybe it would also provide extra hot/cold insulation. I guess my question is has anyone else done this and what product(s) did you use? A lot of the products I've read about like fatmat and dynamat are asphalt and/or rubber materials. Wouldn't this be pretty much the same as using that asphalt type typar stuff used in home construction? Maybe I'm off the mark on this?

I love my Dynamat Extreme. I installed it in my trunk floor & lid, & all 4 doors. I also have some for the hood but I haven't installed it yet.

Dynamat - Front Doors
