I love Toyota's and "like" my 2010 Corolla. The only feature that I find overly annoying is that I strongly feel that the drivers and passenger mirrors need to be larger.
Has Anyone replaced the mirrors (mine are power) with larger mirrors? If so was it as simple as replacing them with a mirror assembly from another Toyota or was it a retrofit??? Any help would be appreciated... Thanks...
Why do you need bigger mirrors?? I just dont think you have yours setup properly. Side mirrors are meant to see whats behind you on the side. To see if cars are comming from behind when u lane change.. Mine are fine, I dont see any need to replacement with bigger ones.. Worst case you can get those mini blind spot mirrors that you stick on.. But if you need those you shouldnt be driving...
The Corolla actually has larger mirrors than a number of competitors, it's something I actually like about the car, as for finding larger ones... I doubt it. If anything, it would need to be a project you'll need to undertake yourself.
OK... I got it, you think the Corolla mirrors are just fine... but I still don't like them
Style - yep they look fine... Vision, well this is the first Toyota that I've ever owned with blind spots and rather than just getting used to them or placing stick on mini mirrors, I want to solve the problem...
Perhaps I should mention that I've owned several corollas, drive a Tacoma daily, and recently traded a Camry for this Corolla so yes I'm used to larger mirrors and thats why I have little tolerance for the blind spits on the new corolla...
Anyone ideas for larger side mirrors greatly appreciated...
yeah the car has very big mirrors compared to others. I know for a fact that my mirrors are bigger than my uncles Taurus which is a mid-full size sedan. And not to mention that it would look goofy for a small car to have huge side mirrors. I have driven trucks all my life and they have huge mirrors and I had no problem adjusting to the "small" mirrors. And also adjusting them is very important...to optimize my range of view and reduce the blind spot
Maybe it's me and I'm obviously new to this forum but I'm not asking for peoples opinion of my opinion.
(I do however understand the fierce loyalty that owning a Toyota generates).
The Corolla has a more limited vision field than I like... Thats all... Nothing personal...
But if someone has ever or comes across any reasonably acceptable way to add larger mirrors to the 2010, would you please let me know... Thanks Again...
might I suggest those Adhesive Blind Spot mirrors?
If you are having problems with your mirrors invest in those ($2.00 at Canadian Tire/Wal-Mart).
I put them on my 2006 Matrix since my wife mainly drives it, and has a harder time looking around and over seats.
Why do they need to be bigger? If properly adjusted (along with properly adjusted rearview mirror) there should be no blind spots.

You give your opinion, we give ours. Thats all. Nothing personal.
I've always dreamed of replacing my side view mirrors with cameras. If my corolla wasn't daily driver, I would give it a go- but with a home brew version. Just an (expensive) idea!

And thanks for those who have responded so far.
If this is your issue than your mirrors are not adjusted properly. With all 3 mirrors adjusted properly there are no blind spots. To properly adjust your side mirrors lean your head to the left against your window, adjust the mirror for your sight from that point. Than lean to your right about a foot & adjust the right side mirror. When you do it this way you will have properly adjusted your mirrors & you will not have any blind spots. Most people adjust their side mirrors from the drivers seat & make it so that they can see a little side of the car. The problem with this is that your side mirrors show almost the same view as your rear view mirror. With your mirrors properly adjusted you will have a panoramic view from side to side & each mirror will have only a little overlap. You should never need those stupid little mirrors that only block your vision on a properly adjusted mirror.
