check the brake fluid. sometimes low fluid in the resivior can trigger the brake light. if thats ok, id check and make sure the hand brake is infact not engaged, and that the switch on the brake handle isnt stuck. this would require disassemply of the center console (not hard at all).

Well took it out for drive on a slippery surface. The ABS is not working so I guess its not the fluid?
Time to see a dealer.

I had those two lights come on (along with another that I cannot recall) when a speed sensor broke in the rear wheel. I had to have the whole hub replaced. Ugh. Yes, time to go see the dealer...
Currently, I used the 10 corolla's steel rim on my S which is 15inch. Would not damage something? I believe all have 5x100 bolt pattern. Woud'nt all Corolla have the same caliper clearance,etc....
I too have just had this happen to my 2009 Corolla.
Ironically, my fiancée has this problem on her 2008 Yaris too. After some preliminary checks I found that the ABS brake sensors in the yaris models have connectors and wiring harnesses that have lots of corrosion issues. I believe there have been TSBs issued on the issue with the yaris, but no recall. The parts required for this are expensive.
Hopefully, you are still under warranty like me. I must say, with these issues you start questioning if Toyota quality is above the rest at all, or just like most every other dealer..
I would go test your ABS somewhere, after verifying brake fluid and the fuse for the brake system, of course. I suspect that it will not work, just as mine (and my fiancées) doesn't anymore. What a week for brake troubles to happen in both cars!

The problem is that when we post every little thing on the forum it appears to be a worse issue than in reality. It may happen to only one of us & to less than 1% of owners but as we talk about it it seems to be a bigger issue. Trust me, every brand/make forum has things like this that come up. After all, it's a machine & some things do happen.
