It's true in the US, but not Canada. I would think that it would help your resale value since there won't be any more available from this point forward.

+1, makes your XRS a little harder come by and thus more valuable... Perhaps not in raising the price, but easing negotiation. I know some1 in my family went and got a used Tacoma 5-speed manual. Because there were very few in the state, and that was a feature he required, he couldn't negotiate when he finally found one. It was buy it or the next guy will.

There was very little negotiation when my parents and I were purchasing my Xrs...
They knew what the car was, they knew we knew what the car was. They didn't want to play games. Haha

Yes I talked to the Toyota Rep. at the driving event I went to a few days ago and he verified that they are in fact getting rid of the XRS
At least I got to drive it at WOT! I love that car! OH well the S is still very very good. Just needs to be a 5 spd
Mine is & it makes all the difference! But than, you already knew that.

I completely agree it probably won't raise the resale value at all but when someone comes around you can charge them the full blue book price and if they dont like it, well too bad for them lol
The discontinuation of the XRS wouldn't hurt its resale value, though helping it is iffy. You have to consider to the fact that most Corolla buyers aren't looking for the bigger engine, and/or manual transmission. It would be an easier sell if it has an automatic and the more efficient engine. For most Toyota dealers, the XRS was a tougher sell, and the many they had usually languished on lots, while the S and LE models sold in droves.
I don't think it raised it but I for one had a hell of time finding a 1990 Honda Prelude Si or a Civic Si or GSR integra... I know for example the older XRS Corollas 9th generation are hard to find... So maybe when your going to sell that car 8 years later you might find some kid who wants are XRS corolla you neaver know... I'm happy they arent making the XRS I always feel specal when I pull up to a S or LE
