Installed new oem style 7" GPS/DVD

I just installed one of the oem style 7" GPS/DVD Hu in my 2010 corolla and everything works great other than they sound quality... Spacifically the bass.. it distorts even at a very low volume setting.. I followed the wiring diagran to the tee, minus I grounded out the brake cable so I can use the dvd function even while the vehicle is in motion. What could cause this? I looked around to try to find a thread on this but either I didnt lookhard enough, there is nothing on this

I would check for crossover settings, make sure they aren't below 40hz or so. Perhaps it is sending out lower frequencies than the speakers can handle? I hope you replaced your factory speakers though!

Off chance, it might think it is outputting to a sub. If it has a setting for it, make sure it knows there isn't one if you don't have one.

Some speakers are a lot more sensitive than others, especially high end speakers. Make sure the positive and negative going to the speaker is connected properly.

Must say, that is a nice head unit. Too bad these don't have removable faces.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for it and where did you get it at?

Just wondering if you ever got this problem sorted out and what you think of the head unit since I am still shopping for one.

Havent had any problems, love the unit. The only thing is that the phone/bluetooth buttom sticks sometimes. The issue i had before was I was running stock speakers which are designed to handle only 20 watts a piece. The H.U puts out 45 watts per channel

Very cool, thanks for the heads up. Do you have a model number off it? I looked for the seller but they are no longer on the site. Also did it come with the ipod cable included and did you have to wire it or does it have the correct plugs to match the factory Toyota connections?

The only thing I can't seem to find on these units is Satellite Radio but that is to be expected since Sirius/XM is a North American thing.
