alright so im done w/ school for the semester and have time to view these toyota forums for new ideas n motivation lol.. so this is what is up w/ my corolla lately..2 weeks ago i went in for an oil change and got the basic service done to it..today i use my car turn on the heater (i use the option to put on the floor by the pedals..and i hear the vents sounding on the top not the bottom..now i dont know if im explaining it clearly..so i now hear the vent sound on top when there is barely no air..
i call the service dept on where i get my toyota serviced at ask them if i can make an apointment and they tell me i cannot have my car serviced until b4 new years..so then i proceed n tell them if i can get a loaner (rep tells me policies have change, and if i call toyota corp office if they will tell me the same..got told yes the repp at corp will say the same thing)..now i called the corp office and i got told another story where they told me the policies have not changed
now my main question is has anyone experience any issues with their air vents..mind you my car is only 10k miles and got told by the service advisor that i must change the " in cabin air filter" (to be changed at 15k) and it is not covered under warranty if its not the actual in cabin air..
most likely its not ur cabin air filter...but i would go to an autoparts store n purchase a new one (i change mine every year) they cost about 13-20 depending which one u buy n where at (just ordered one from amazon for 18.64 carbon style) and change it urself...all u do is remove the lower glove (push the two sides together n itll fall down and slide the bar thing on the right off (like a spring) and there a box where the cabin filter is...that way they cant change u like 60 bux to do it as theyre trying to find out the real issue...another option is bringing it to another dealership n c if theyre willing to help u out

Maybe I missed it, but what exactly is the problem? You hear air blowing from the vents up high on the dash but no air coming out of them, or the vents by the floor?

ok i turn on the cars heater using the option to blow hot air towards the gas pedals..is it normal for the top vents to make the blowing air noise or should the blowing air noise sound only at the floor by the pedals..mind you i did not choose the option where both vents work just the floor vent that releases the hot air.. i just made myself sound confusing on my original post my apologies.
On the HVAC controls, he chose for the airflow of only air going to the foot wells (middle choice on the very left knob) and hes hearing air flow coming from the upper vents, but he only set the vents to come from the bottom.

Yeah, I was going to try to describe how Foot doesn't cut off complete flow to sides, but just look at Jeff's pic... MUCH easier to comprehend than me mumbling, lol.

Good illustration, I always liked how I could keep my Corollas set to floor and still get enough air up top to keep the windshield clear without switching to floor/def.
On my 7th & 8th gen Civics I have to keep it at floor/def to clear the windshield properly.
