2009 power steering whine what gives

My 09 has a whine that sounds like a old power steering pump whining. Gets louder as you rev the engine. Its not real loud and could live with it but just erks me to have that noise on a 60,000 mile car.Does these new electric motor driven power steering cars actually have power steering fluid ?

No power steering fluid. At 60k, I would guess it might be your serpentine belt if you haven't changed it or if you have changed it, it might be too loose or too tight.

Whats the rule of thumb again to check them dad gum belts. Pour a little water on them to check ?? and spray a little WD-40 on them engine off of course to check for ?? Bummer I cant remember. Then I think you spray each pully engine off one by one to find the bad bearings. Does that sound right ?

Could be the AC belt/motor if its engaged. Cause I hear it in my XRS as well only when the AC is on though.

I think that would be the AC compressor making noise. Mine makes noise AC clutch ingauged or not and gets louder as the motor revs.
