fyi- this is not the way to add horsepower

Today at walmart i found some bottles of oil that said +4hp on them, buy 10 and your set.

On a serious note though if your looking for hp, the corolla is not for you, sure its sporty but lets be serious- its an econo car. gas mileage is your friend. But if you want a little extra jazz i suggest the borla or magnaflow exhaust and maybe a weapon intake. However there are options such as boosting it but judging from your post i cant imagine you have much knowledge of going about that, but i could be wrong. Read up on the forums here and see what other people are doin to their cars and im sure you'll learn alot! welcome!

You won't get that kind of increase out of your current car without getting forced induction.

Easiest way would be to trade your car in for an XRS if you still want a Corolla.

sell your corolla is the best bet.....or else....force induction. A full race n/a built may take you up there, but it will cost more than a force induction setup.

Did you really push your rolla to the limit? sometime it is not only the hp number that counts, I am more than happy with the 86 although it only has around 120hp...

If you want a performance car sell your Corolla and buy a performance car. Camaro, Mustang, 370z......the Corolla is an economy car.

Many years ago, Corollas had only 90 hp or so, then 102, then 125, now 132. It ain't that bad.

1990 4 door Corolla - 2,390 lbs. - 102hp - 23.4 lbs/hp
2000 4 door Corolla - 2,500 lbs. - 125hp - 20 lbs/hp
2010 4 door Corolla - 2,800 lbs. - 132hp - 21 lbs/hp

It's not that good either. We may have more horsepower now but we're also carrying around a lot more weight than we used to.

If you want a fast car, sell the Corolla and buy something that has horsepower. Adding 30 or 40 HP will only make you have a somewhat less slow Corolla.

actually you can buy a piggy back engine management, have your manifold + valves honed and ported, get headers and wider exhaust piping. get a better intake and you can get 30 hp easy.

I smell troll!!!

You best option is to not let your parents lease your next car.. :P

Or do some actual research on the vehicle you purchase.

While that is true, the current car has more technology, more room, is quieter with a better ride. I know, I own a 94 Corolla too!

The Corolla will never be fast unless FI is used, but I'm surprised at how much quicker my car feels after I added the Borla exhaust, Takeda SRI, & Pivot throttle controller. I drove a stock 2010 Corolla today & after getting in my car it feels like a very different car. I wouldn't even know that it had the same engine & suspension.......on what a minute, they don't have the same suspension. But both were also 5-speed manual transmissions, like I said though, the difference was staggering.

It's not fast but a heck of a lot more fun to drive & it feels much quicker. Try it & see what you think. You can always sell it or turbo it, you would have to figure out which would be cheaper as you could easily spend more than the $5k that a turbo would cost on a faster car.
