Water spots in back glass

Hi all,

I try to keep my car clean all the time. In my area was raining for few days. Today the rain stopped, so I decided to clean it. When I was drying my back glass, I saw many water spots that were not there before! I do not know how to remove them so I am asking to you guys how to...? (I think that the glass was 'protected' with some product like RainX. I only have this problem in this glass because is where only was applied the 'rain protectant' product )

if you wipe the outside of the glass with a wet microfiber and it doesnt remove the water spots, maybe the water spots are on the interior side?

I am 100% sure that the spots are in the outside of the glass. I can see them with a inclined view with direct light.

Ðo you smoke in your car? this usually leaves a light haze on your windows, if you dont have tint, windex the inside and wipe really hard. If you do have tint dont use windex, it deteriorates the glue.

I'd suggest trying a mixture of white vinegar and warm water. Put it in a spray bottle, apply it to the rear window, let it sit for a few seconds and then wipe it clean with paper towels or newspaper. If that doesn't work then there are a number of dedicated products on the market. A couple of good ones are Winsol Crystal Clear 550 and Spot-X. Good luck!

+1 for the vinegar and water. if it is the outside of the window, try using 0000 grade steel wool also.

how do you clean the glass windows on the outside when you are doing the car wash by yourself?

The waterspots left after washing are caused by impurities(dissolved) in the water. You should dry you car with a shammy after all washes. Some types of car soap contains wax and also causes spots ans waves, dry your car with a soft cloth or a shammy to avoid this.

I always use a skin cloth absorber. I never had this problem in the past until was applied the rain protection.

I do not smoke; I tried using Windex but it does not work. Going to try the vinegar with water solution.
