Working for toyota?

Just thought I would share...

My status is currenty being changed from active duty to disability. Once this is complete I will be able to work full time again, and won't be stuck doing nothing. This is good news to me as it has been almost 2 years now.

So, I just received a call from Toyota of Nashua, NH. They are looking for salesmen, and I sent them an email. I will be calling back soon to schedule and interview.

I just thought it was pretty cool and interesting, so I thought I would share with my TN family.

It really depends what you like doing though.

I wouldn't want to be a salesman though, I'm just not the right person for it.

Well I came from a mechanical background. My dad was a Mechanic. I worked on F-18 superhornets. Hydraulics and airframe. As much as I love mechanical work, it just is not practical in my condition. I feel sales would work well. It gives me the exercise I need to recover, but not too much.

As for the hours that were mentioned before. That is a good thing to me. For the last year and a Half I have been stuck at home with nothing to do. 1 month was in a coma. 2 on a walker, and another on crutches. Everybody I know is either in school or working. It gets me up and out. Everybody I know works a lot. The more it keeps me busy the better.

Once working I become an over achiever. Blame the military for that. I think it will be good for me, and hopefully I can advance and once day I can be the important guy, who wears a suit, does nothing, and gets paid alot.

Well I have barely been on my feet in the last year and a half. As long as I am out of the house I will be happy. I really appreciate you're input though. It seems like you know quite a bit about the life.

My situation is, I was in a serious motorcycle accident a while back. Broken femur, broken foot, 2 broken ribs, both lungs collapsed. I almost died of respiratory failure twice. I am still in rough shape now. I can not stand for very long times. My hip is a little week. And I have terrible range of motion in my ankles causing pain.

After hearing that, do you think it would be beneficial to me? The whole lots of sitting thing is actually good for me. I currently spend majority of my time In bed. I am going stir crazy.

Hopefully you can give me some good advice.

As for the retirement, I already have my military retirement, and all my benefits. So that Is no big deal to me. I do not need the money desperately. I get my disability pay still. On top of my insurance settlement from the accident that I am using wisely. With a little bit of extra cash, I will probably but a small house, and fix it up over time. Sell it in a year or two, and return to the military when I am all cleared.
