i dont believe you need a camber kit unless you want to have camber and to answer how soon you need an alignment. it should be as soon as possible whenever you do any suspension work.

an alignment check will truly say if you need a camber correction kit or not.

I would suggest you to do an alignment asap, as the stec is a bigger drop compare to the trd. It will affect both toe and camber. Fail to do that, may premature worn out your tires and affect your car handling. In terms of camber angle, you do need a camber kit to adjust it back to stock configuration, otherwise you will be about 0.5 degree off. For the back, nothing you can really do about that, as our rear suspension is torsion beam, not individual.

Is the camber kit really necessary, if its off by 0.5 I suspect that the tires will wear unevenly? Also is your toe in the rear off when you dropped on the stech?

1/2 a degree of camber i believe should still be in the acceptable range. it will also slightly give you a little bit better handling also.

But at the same time, you will have a chance to worn out your tires unevenly. For day to day driving, i rather set my camber to the stock spec.

Just did the alignment at another shop, since the guy that checked the alignment wasn't very professional. He looked lost.... I ask the guy, he say the back is off by a little bit which shouldn't be a problem and say the front is way off so he adjusted.
