separating squirrel cage fan from blower motor

Hi guys, anyone who knows how to remove this thing? I'm trying to transplant the squirrel cage to another blower motor for a friend of mine's 10th gen. I'm surprised to see this kind of lock, as it is different from the ones I used to handle before. TIA.

it looks like a press fitted, only way to remove it is force the plastic out or you can dremel the metal on sides till it slides out but you have to press fit it again or just use a hammer carefully, hope this helps. i take no responsibility if you damage it

From what I can see in the photos that nylon tapered bushing is pressed on to the shaft locking the blower on. It looks like a one time use item. You could cut it off to remove it but you would need a new one to press on to the new blower.

Yep, I'm beginning to think that this is a single use piece. it may have to be destroyed to be removed. I guess i'll have to find a replacement first before i deal with this. or cut it perfectly in half and super glue it later oh well... I'll wait for more inputs, thanks guys.

the cage cant be removed from the sub-assembly. or atleast shouldnt be. in the disassemble instructions, it says blower sub-assembly and blower resistors are the only things removable from the blower unit.
