it's not gonna do much for a corolla, as in 1) you can't really change any settings that the computer won't automatically change back, and 2) even if you could change some setting you wouldn't see much of an increase in performance and would only risk damaging your car.
Make sure you do some researches before buying it. I know people on scionlife was talking about a vvti controller, made by CAMCON. It works like a piggyback system, you can't adjust cam angle with it, but you can adjust air/fuel ratio and overall timing with it. But without proper knowledge and tuning, changing the timing may cause your engine to run too rich or too lean which may cause chances for engine damages. And remember, Vvti is a continous variable valve timing system, it works in all rpm.
You have to make sure the guy is not selling a controller for the VVTLi for the 2zzge matrix/corolla/celica.That controller is to alter the lift kick in rpm. Unlike Honda vtec, the Toyota lift kicks in even later than the vtec, with minimal lift zone to play with, people used that controller to bring the lift kick in rpm to about 5500 rpm. If that is that controller he is trying to sell you, then he has no clue what is going on then.
yea i kno vvt-i is always open but this product is to adjust vvt-i / v-tech and it said cam timing air/fuel and i think he said it wus a plug n play
Well like others have said do your research, I don't think they have released a piggyback for our platform prob thats for the previous generation corolla/celica/matrix/vibe
First, VTech is the world's leading supplier of corded and cordless phones and electronic learning products.
Second, VTEC is Honda technology. Toyota doesn't have VTEC. We only have the VVTL-i.
Third, our 10th gen doesn't have the VVTL-i engine. Both the 1.8L and 2.4L only got the VVT-i.
first, if u read carefully i said vvt-i/v-tech controller i never said vvtl-i
second, yes i kno vtech makes phones i have one and my son has vtech toys but i thought people would kno what i was talkin bout when i said vtech since we are on a car forum kinda dosent make sence to talk bout vtech toys or phones on a car forum
third, i kno v-tech is honda technology
fourth, yes i know the 10th gen dont have lift only 9th gen corolla xrs, matrix and not to sure what gen but celica got it too

You still didn't get it. It is V-TEC not V-TECH
And I never said you mention VVTL-i. You were saying the controller can adjust vvt-i and v-tech (V-TEC), so I just want to make sure you do know our 10th gen don't have the lift like the VVTL-i engines. And since we are talking about Toyota, so there will be no V-TEC in Toyota's engines.
