Problem with horn?!?!?

hello everyone! a couple months back i was driving around toronto and i hit a pot hole... my horn instantly became jammed ... upon impact it turned on and is stuck on.... i had to disconnect the harness to disable it, as it is stuck on and wont stop.

i took it to the dealership and they were unable to identify the problem... i havent taken it back for a full diagnostic due to lack of time between college and work...

anyone know what the problem could be?? or perhaps experienced a similar ordeal?

Check the wires. They run along the front bumper and could have gotten snagged on some metal piece and exposed some wiring.

Edit: Or just take it to another dealer so they can figure it out.

Worry not my friend, that whiny, barely audible, almost insulting noise you hear from the front of your car when you press the horn is just the way the stock horn sounds.

Funny, but I think you misunderstood his question.

OP, I think Shft99 might have the right idea. The horn might be ground-switched so if the wiring became exposed and grounded somewhere on the body, that might cause it to stay on. Just a guess though. How big of a pothole did you hit? I hit a pothole with an exposed manhole cover in the center in the first 2 months I owned my car and slashed two tires

the horn is positively switched. the horn is grounded through its mounting bracket.

i need to pull out the wiring diagrams for the horn but i'd probably say there's a problem with your horn switch, aka the airbag.
