225/55 ZR16 on 16x7 45 offset will i have clearence issues?

i'd like to go to this size tire to fill out the wheel well without using lowering springs but it is a 1" wider than stock. the guy at the tire store thinks i'll have clearence issues. hasanybody tried this size? if not does anybody have a tire size recomendation. i allready have 16x7 wheels.

your tires will look really fat, and you wont rub unless you have lowered it.

Assuming yours is LE...

First off, by switching to 225/55/R16 you are not gonna fill out the wheel gap by a large amount; in fact it will fill out only 0.35 inch more - you will still have a LARGE wheel gap.

Second, you are gonna have a pretty inaccurate odometer and speedometer readings. You think you are going at 60mph? You are actually doing almost 62 mph.

Third, your car will sit higher than before because your overall diameter is larger.

So, I suggest you get lowering springs

The 225 width will fit with no rubbing but use a 225/50R16 to keep the mileage & speedo accurate...and get yourself some TRD springs.
