Subwoofer Box

Do you guys think this sub would fit in the trunk? its designed for a 9thGen Corolla though?

They look really similar. 10thGen looks slightly larger, don't know how I would have it 'custom' fitted if I got it.

Are Kicker subs good as well?

in reality it doesn't matter how good your speaker is, if you have a crappy amp-your sub is gona suck! and it also depends on if the box is ported or sealed. I have a 12" kicker "comp" series powered by a 3000w ppi amp (yea i know its over kill) but my ported box makes it bump hard as hell even if my amp is barely putting out for the sake of my sub.

Unfortunately no pics of the rear of the box.

Main concern if it will fit there decently.

Different subs are designed to work in different boxes. Some work better in a sealed box, some in a ported box. The general rule is that a sealed box will provide smoother bass & a ported box will thump more. Most younger people like ported boxes but they need to be larger & take up more space while a sealed box can be much smaller. I like smaller sealed boxes but than again, I'm older & I don't listen to that rap crap they call music.

The Kicker unit looks like it would be a sealed sub as the box is very small.

You're right, some of the early rap from the late 70's & early 80's is okay since you can understand the words & they're not all about drugs & killing.

Do you guys think it would fit decently?

Or if slight modification was required, I wouldn't know where to start

See if you can find one from a dealer that you could try first.

this was gonna be my suggestion as well. What's the price range on these things? I'd be interested in getting one down the road if it fits and sounds good as I don't need a lot of bass, but want something that is small so I don't lose trunk space.

these units were made to tie into the factory 9th gen radio. will this even work on the 10th gen?

if anything you can put it in and it doesn't fit right and you just cut a piece of wood to cover everything up.

when I get a sub, Im not looking for like the crazy thump...just more ummmm definition in the music. By the sounds of it I think I would like the sealed box more I would like it to be smooth and a clean bass.

I dont need a lot of bass either and I too want a smaller sub for the same reason as to not take up so much darn room! haha
