Miles available in tank not moving

It says on the left of my dashboard the miles I have left with the amount of gas in my tank. It has been stuck at 255, what would cause this problem? I topped off at the gas station yesterday and normally it says around 344 when full. But it just showed 255.

I would swing by the dealer & ask them. Mine always resets to about 400-425 miles when I fill up.

BTW...I used to live in Santa Fe years ago!

How do you get such a high range? I'm pretty average on the gas and I'm only getting like 276

I checked today when I was in my car & I had 160 miles on the tank & it said my range was 248 so that would be 408 miles.

This happened to me once it was stuck in the 90s and wouldn't move at all. Just reset your computer by taking the negative terminal off for a good 10 mins

I took a pic today of my readout so that you can see what it was reading today. Current total range is 404 with miles driven & range left.

I drive like Hell and usually get 322 on the miles until empty notification. Only had it since Novemebr though so with some restraint, more highway driving, not rushing to work and summer fuel mix I am sure that will go up a lot.

On a side note: OMG! Another Corolla owner on here from Michigan!!!!!!!!! I am not alone in the land of GM!

But it all depends on when you fill up. I try to never let it get below 1/4 tank before filling it. It will take 9-10 gallons to fill. During the summer that will be 325-380 miles. I could get more than 400 miles though, I just don't run it until the light comes on.
