Driver's door clunks and grinds when opeing and closing

Has anyone experienced a problem like this? Something inside the door mechanism is making the noise. Would this type of problem be covered under warranty? The car has about 35,000 Km on it.

Thanks

door should not be doing that... is it INSIDE the door or like the hinge/etc making noises? More details would help. What kind of noise, etc.

Depends what it is if it is warranty or not. If it's an internal issue, it should be covered.

It's the mechanism that stops the door from swinging after you open it. The crunching and grinding is from inside the door, under the panel.

A while back a dog ran into my car an did a little damage to the lower part of the driver's door, but I don't think it was enough to cause damage to the inside. I think I'll just book an appointment and bring it in and hope that it's covered under warranty.

I would try some WD40 first just to make sure it's not just a squeak or something minor, but yeah, next step is to isolate the issue.

Was the damage repaired? If so take it back to the shop who did the work.

i dunno if this the same that happend to me but it clunks everytime i open and close the door, what i noticed is the bolt or screws in the middle (where the black color lever is, i dunno what they called it)are loose. So i just tighten it up and voila!

Your door might come out of alignment from the impact, take it to the dealer and get them to adjust it if you're still under warranty.
