Blinking Red Symbol on 2010 Corolla

I just bought a new 2010 Corolla on Friday. It now has all of 235 miles on it. Unfortunately the owners manual was stolen out of it before I bought it, so the dealer is ordering a full set of books for me. Therefore, I can't refer to the manual at this time to figure out what the flashing red light that shows a lock over the symbol of a car next to the passengers side air bag light is for. I'm assuming that it's just a warning for car thieves to let them know the vehicle is equipped with an anti theft system, but it seems to blink whenever the car is off regardless of whether the car is locked or not. If anyone can confirm or deny my assumption, I would appreciate it.

Great little car so far. I bought a new Blue Streak 2010 Corolla LE with ash interior for my daughter to use while she is away at college. I was looking at used ones and found a dealer 120 miles away selling new ones for less that I could buy a used one with 20,000 or 30,000 miles. My first impressions of the car is that it is built extremely tight and it seems well made. Runs great, gets great fuel mileage, well optioned, rides great and handling is ok. I already have a few Corollas....a 1991 Corolla, a 1992, a 1994, a 1995 and a 1999. The 1999 is being sold to help pay for the 2010. Overall it seems like a great value for the money. One thing I was concerned about was all of the negative publicity concerning the electric steering, however, I haven't noticed any real problem with it.....just that the steering is a little numb on center, but not enough for me to get the TSB performed on it. So far. so good. I've been on the 6th, 7th and 8th generation boards here off and on, but this is my first post on the 10th gen board.
