So I'm not over impressed with the sound system in my 2010 S. The sound in my old 2007 Camry was better (Sadly the lease was up) so I'm going to replace the HU and speakers soon. I've been combing over this forum and came across this unit and I was wondering if anyone has it and what they think of it:
Is it truly plug and play? No additional wiring harnesses required?
And for today's stupid question; I have two front speakers, plus front tweeters, and the rear speakers. Does that count as a 4 speaker system or a 6 speaker system? What are your thoughts on replacing the front speakers with component speakers and replacing the tweeters as well? Worth it, or pointless?
someone else posted this exact HU before -run a search, should be able to find it.
The reason I remember this is b/c every one of the reviews are questions, not reviews well, same one, which was saying he ordered it.
I know, right? You see it has 5 star reviews only to see a bunch of shipping questions and such. A couple of "WOW THIS THING IS AWESOME!!!!111!!!" or something would have been nice.
I just ordered a 250 gig Xbox HD from these guys (3rd party type, WAAAY cheaper) so we'll see how fast they can get it from China to BFE USA

Thanks!
I have this unit in 7". Search under "cabur" and you'll find it. They are more members with this unit too.
As for stupid question, you have a 6 speaker system. The 4 speakers do not have the tweeter on the A pillars.
I just use my standard 6 speakers. With this HU it's very much improved.

So what do you think of yours?
Ordering a no-name from China kinda scares me. For a while I've been looking at a Pioneer double-din unit but when I saw these that became a very hard decision. OEM style definitely looks better. But I don't want it to crap out on me in a year after dealing with our stellar roads and nasty winter cold.
There seems to be a lot more choices on ebay for the 10th Gen HU's now. Just seach Corolla GPS to check em out. Squaretrade could cover the warranty on those too

I feel the same. There's no user reviews anywhere for a lot of these so you don't know what you're really getting. And it's a bit of a risky deal to have something shipped all the way from China, and in a lot of cases spend a great deal of shipping money to do so, only to find out you got a real POS. While I rather like the look of these OEM style units, I think I may just get a regular double-din aftermarket radio and get all of the accessories necessary to make it work right with my car.
For an extra $60 or so you can get a deck with a lot more features than that Pioneer that will be expandable. Check out the Clarion VX400 and the Pioneer 3200. Both can add nav and sat radio later if you wish and are touchscreen with DVD and iPod capable.

The Pioneer AVH-P2300DVD has all of that and it's only about $30 more.
this is in a friends car that he got from his cousin when it was in his 10th gen (fellow tn member)
8" screen
works good I have to say and the steering wheel controls work too
Wow that is purty. The more I look at aftermarket HU's and all the added crap I'll need to buy to make it work, the 8" unit is starting to make more sense, even after $60 to ship it here.
