Thumbs up New Corolla Owner [Pictures added]

Hello everyone!

I traded my '08 Nissan Xterra Off-Road (with about 65,000 miles) and got a 2010 Corolla S (with 44 miles) last week (2/23/11). I hate the power difference but I'm loving the gas mileage. I just got done with a 780-ish mile road trip over the weekend and saved about $51 on gas (averaged 33mpg). Savings will continue to last! It was an even trade, so, I'm happy.

I've been browsing this forum since I got the car last week and have been planning on few easy mods. Let's see what happens and how far I go.

This is my first car (my first two vehicles were SUVs) and the difference is weird but I'm sure I will get used to it.

Well, just wanted to say hi. I will try and post some pictures after my dealer does the detailing later this week (it was raining last week).

Btw, the color I got is Magnetic Gray.

Looking forward to enjoying my stay here!

[Edit: 3/6/11 - Pictures added]

Welcome.
Everytime you feel the Corolla is underpowered, Think gas saved. My last car was a BMW 535I.

Hello and welcome. I just recently traded a 2005 Xterra for my 2010 Corolla S. You hit the nail on the head. The lack of power compared to what we were just rolling around in is to the point of frustrating. But the gas mileage in the Corolla is absolutely fantastic.

Have you been looking at the throttle controller thread? I've been checking it out for the last couple of days and feel pretty certain that I'll be getting one of these in the near future. I need to keep researching it a bit more to make sure that I fully understand what it's doing but it doesn't seem all that complicated. It may quench some of my thirst for the feeling of more power.

to TN. I was going to ask you if you bought an AT or MT & than I saw the interior picture of the AT. You do sense less power with the AT but with an intake/exhaust & throttle controller the difference can be amazing. Just ask FlawedLegacy as he has an AT with these same mods. I have a MT with these same mods & the difference from stock is night & day.

Before I think about intake/exhaust mods, I will probably invest in a throttle controller. I have read that whole thread and I'm definitely interested in it.
