Best Place in WA to have Viper Install done

Thanks to this forum I've asked a ton of questions and been able to prioritize my "mods", As tax day is coming up, I've decided that the best use of my tax refund would be to invest in a Viper 5901 system. Something I've always wanted, more so than fancy rims, or great speakers.

I suppose only those who live in WA or nearby can answer. The Viper electronics website seems to point to several BEST BUYS and STEREO WAREHOUSES. I'm currently thinking of going to the Northgate BESTBUY to have the install done as I've had a stereo installed there before. Does anyone have any recommendations other than this place? Thanks.

Check Yelp out. I think most go to Car Toys over there :P

Coincidentally I've heard that BESTBUY is better than CAR TOYS, but not by much and really depends on where you go haha.

Yeah I would go that route. Doesnt the Viper Alarm kit include installation anyway if you buy from Best Buy?

What I've found with purchasing this (or other) Viper product from Best Buy is that it includes basic installation. I don't exactly know what that means but this is from their site on the Viper 5901 page.

" This remote start system allows you to start your car at the touch of a button. The security feature alerts you of vehicle intrusion.
Installation Professional installation is strongly recommended for this product.
Price includes cost of basic installation.
Additional parts and labor are usually required. <LI sizset="236" sizcache="25">NOTE: cost of additional parts and labor typically ranges from $5 to $200, depending upon vehicle make and model - please contact your local Best Buy store for exact pricing. "

I was reading through some of the reviews and one dude says he was charged a rediculous amount and would not recommend going to BB to get it done. I think as long as you have a conversation about the install it shouldn't get too outrageous. <---Get it in writing.

You'll need a bypass kit and I believe the remote door actuators as well, iirc. I had mine done at Futureshop. I'll have to check the receipt when i get home to have a look, it was a present. I had the 5101 installed, no alarm.

even I dont know what the "basic installation" is and I work at best buy. I think you just need to get the bypass kit for the actually systems to allow you to start the car without the key and the chip inside it.

oh yeah and I forgot that Futureshop was Best Buy aswell

I wouldn't let Best Buy touch my Corolla. They seem to go through installers like crazy. I would trust Car Toys a lot more as I've seen the same guys there for years.

Since you are in Seattle, you should join our local NW Toyota club at ToyotaSyndicateNW.com & ask everyone there. We have several local installers that do things for the group too for discount rates. Join up & start going on our monthly cruise & meets.
