Question CAI vs SRI?

Hey, I'm planning to get an intake on my Corolla S. I've heard many pros and cons for both CAI and SRI intake. Like apparently, CAI can cause hydrolocking in places that floods but SRI does not function properly in the heat. Well, I live in Georgia, Suwanee area and it get's really hot during the summer. like 100+ F so I was thinking about CAI but it does sometimes rains a lot and some places have puddles where it can enter the CAI which can cause hydrolocking. So i'm not which one is worth going for besides acknowledging the hp gains and the sound.

Use the search function, this topic has been covered for many times.

Anyway, don't you worry about hydrolocking. Unless you drive through pond of water. Think about it, will you drive through water that is as high as your bumper? No, not even without the CAI. It is just common sense of driving, if you think the water is too deep to drive over, turn around and find another way in. If you are still worrying, get the CAI with the secondly by pass filter, then 100% it won't hydrolock. Try to look under AEM, I have seen it on other cars before.

Don't worry about your car Hydrolocking because of the intake, the chances of that aren't that high. It would have to be literally flooding for that much water to get in.

If your worried about the CAI getting water, there are splash guards right below where the filter is for the intake. Its placed between the foglight and headlight, right in that corner. If you want more peace to your mind you can get a AEM Air Bypass Valve. You can do more research on that if you interested in it.

If your worried about the SRI not functioning properly because of the heat, I believe the K&N Typhoon SRI comes with a heat shield.

Oh and to TN!
