I am SOOO glad I dont ever worry about that. I dont think i've EVER folded my mirrors in on ANY car! Even if I did, I think i'd use the money for a diff mod.

Haha, I agree. In my neck of the woods that is unnecessary, but still does look pretty neat!
The nice benefit would be to fold them in when on the open road to help mpg & than open them back out when in traffic. I would love them for that ability. How do you get them to do that?

So how difficult were those to install? I sure do like the idea.

I dunno if that'd make that much of a difference tbh... though i do love the look when my parents car folds in...
I thought by power folding window you meant rear sunscreen... thats one feature i'm REALLY missing on my corolla, even with the tint...

You would be surprised at how much it could help, hold your hand flat in the wind at 70 mph & feel the wind resistance. I'll bet that you could squeeze 1-2 mpg better with the mirrors folded in. I've done several experiments with it & I've noticed 1-3 mpg improvement in unofficial testing on road trips.

I honestly have no idea, but I'm sure you can rig them to do whatever you want with a push of a button or flick of a switch.

it wasn't that hard. if you know how to run wires to the door then you're good to go.
it only gets difficult if you don't buy a pre-fabricated kit. I bought mine back before there was any readily available so i ended up taking an BMW M5 mirror, modifying the base, adding new mounts so it could just bolt on and then figuring out all the wiring. the pre fabricated kits should essentially just bolt on.

my kit is different. biggest difference is that mine fold up, the ones on ebay and the factory kits fold in. mine doesn't have turn signals but mine has a dual convex mirror that the ones that fold in, dont.

I used hand power to fold my mirrors in. I live in a pretty rural area so they haven't been folded out for a couple of years now...not even when I get into the city...I just utilize the old shoulder check if perchance I lose track of a car during my constant rear view/forward view scanning. Not surprisingly, they are folded in when I shut the car off too...
Supercharged is correct, all aero mods aren't significant on their own, but added up they can contribute to some great results....
Cleanmpg.com & Ecomodder.com are some great resources as well as looking at new car designs you'd be surprised how many are adding fuel conserving implementations.
