So for money purposes i am considering selling my 10th gen and getting a 9th gen XRS. im thinking i could get 12-14K for my S and am looking at this 9th gen
please give me any pros and cons you have or opinions. I think the seller would go under 8k for his xrs and it only has 30k miles more than mine. Opinions please. thanks!
Drive that shit first! 9th Gen's steer much better imo, but if they haven't been taken care of they'll sure as hell make you know it.
Plus, it looks like a trim piece is missing from the dash - there should be a flip-down cover over that gap below the A/C controls.
--EDIT--
Also, that front bumper's been hit on something. Look at the passenger-side fitment. You can't say it's been repainted for certain because the shadows and reflections could be causing the tone difference, but it's certainly something to check out.

haha i was gonna say its 8.5 OBO and its been up for a while so i think he would take less. Good point on the front bumper! i have driven my friends xrs and it feels really good. What do you mean i will feel it if it hasnt been taken care of? like i will be able to tell from driving it? Also i will have a mechanic check it out with me!
i like the 9th gen corolla for looks. the gts doesnt rev as high and size is a problem, although they do look SOOOO sexy. The matrix is ok but not my favorite. Id much rather have a lighter corolla and a non hatchback
I'd actually prefer the 9thGen Xrs over the Celica and Matrix, though If I'm not mistaken the '00-'01 Celica GT-S's had a higher rev limit than the later years.

Its flimsy and expensive to fix/replace. You'll see it broken with a lot of these 9thgens for sale. Some do a hack job using tape and magnets, but some of us lucky to have had it fixed by the dealer while under warranty.
I like the look of the 10th Gen a lot more than the 9th Gen. The 9th Gen is a lot smaller inside & doesn't have the eye appeal of the 10th Gen. I know that the engine is fantastic in the XRS but to me it's still a step backwards. Your 10th Gen looks so much better than that 9th Gen, & you never know what issues there may be from some one modding the car.
I would say to look for a XRS down the road after you get done with school as an extra fun car.

We've got a 9th gen XRS and it'll be a short term gain if you're doing the trade for financial purposes. It requires premium gas, and the mileage if it were stock is something like 450km per tank. An intake and exhaust will bring it down to about 400km per tank.
I've babied the throttle as best I can and its no where near the mileage on my 10th gen XRS.
