JVC Double-Din in 2009 corolla

So I wanted an in-dash video/audi system so why not.
visited visions today and this caught my eye.

JVC KWAVX640

I payed $415 for the system, in dash car kit, and also the convert cables.
I think its a pretty crazy deal.
Will be posting pictures later

That looks nice, very similar to my Kenwood DNX6960 in my 07 Matrix. Does it have Nav & BT? The price is nice for sure.

Did you get a wiring harness adapter? That should make the install pretty simple.

Wiring harness adapter is a must, it makes it a smooth process. You are only going to use 2 of those 4 plugs and the majority of it is for speaker wiring.

I think I got the adapters.
But it doesn't seem that easy.

I got 2 adapters like this
with a white adapter at the top and wires going out of it and thats it.

And also got a cable with the JVC deck
which looks like this

Im guessing the wires have to be spliced together, but I dont know which one to what, since
jvc has white with black stripe or purple with black stripe and toyota doesnt.

That's all you should need than. There should be directions that came with the harness that tells you which wire to connect from the harness to the JVC. If you aren't sure than just check with the place you bought it from. I've installed many of these over the years & it's pretty straight forward every time.

Definitely do not just match them up by color as most will not be the same. Match them up by what they do. That can be deciphered by looking at the instructions for the JVC unit and the instructions for the harness. I will say that when I put my Clarion in last night that the colors of both harnesses matched up perfectly with only 1 wire being left out, it was phone mute and that was built in to the radio so it mutes automatically when receiving a call.

So i got around to it and connected the adapters together and all the wires.
Got it installed and it fits nice and looks nice.

the best thing I love is of course the color changing.
I can match the colors of day and night that the car outputs with sliders.
And of course I did the bad thing.
I shorted out the hand brake line in the deck. And now if someone is in the back or the front
they can watch a movie while i drive.

There is your teaser shot.

And the rest

Looks great! The Dash kit looks OEM. Is that the Scosche kit?

It's definitely not scosche.
It's some no name or OEM brand that Vision gave me specifically for my CE.
It came with 4 different mounting brackets, lots of screwes, tabs, etc.
And it cost only $15.
www.visions.ca

Ill see if I can find the packaging.
Illl post a video of the sweetest touch function I have found on it

Ya the scosche kit looks a bit different.
Doesn't look like the colors match that well.
