My coworker is a Honda fanatic. He built a prelude that import magazine takes to shows. His current project is an all wheel drive bubble. which gave me the idea I wonder if I could make my XRS awd. I have seen the Matrix XRS and it is the same power plant, but awd. the frame appears to be the same, it even has that rear beam with the sway bar in it. I was wondering if anyone on here has thought about making a 10th gen corolla awd, and if it would work.

I'm sure that it could be done with enough time & money.

Anything can be done with enough time and money but you have to ask yourself, is it worth it?

You mean "too" Daniel, as in also or in addition too.

LOL
im sorry, im the worst with spelling
but on a serious note.... i think that putting in the effort to make a corolla an AWD car is not worth it... put that effort into something that others can really appreciate (as well as yourself) like (as previously said) a turbo kit

No, the AWD does not use the same rear beam suspension, in fact it uses a completely different mid/rear floor setup with independent rear suspension. The differential is mounted in the center, and there is a more contemporary sway bar. The bolt pattern is different on the wheels (and it uses a drum-style parking brake), so you'd need different brake lines, brake cables, and since the bolt pattern is different it would also mean changing the front hubs, rotors, and calipers. You'd of course also need new wheels all around.
On top of all of this, like I said earlier the floor is also different, there is no room in there for the driveshaft.
Is it possible to do this? Absolutely! But it's probably a lot more work than you think it is.
or with enough money do a 2jz swap to RWD woop! jk
ive always pondered about what engine would actually fit our engine bay but reality is a rwd setup would cost us too much, but maybe a fwd v6 setup like the 2GR-FE from a rav4 or camry...but somehow get it to mounted to a manual transaxle instead of an automatic.
