lowered in places with snow

im still riding stock and i was curious to see if people in places that get a fair amount of snow have had any problems with anything after lowering. i am between tein stech or getting coils. (depends on my raise in a week) i know there are a bunch of threads about springs and all that i looked and didnt see anyone say anything about having problems with snow and being dropped.

Most threads I heave read say that if you deal with snow or potholes anything lower than Eibach or TRD could cause you problems.

True, I have TRD springs. Winter was passable and I wouldn't go lower. I've had issues trying to keep my fender clean this winter due to accumulation. At one point I had my font inner fender's plastic liner get off it's clips when I hit a good bump because my wheel well was so packed with ice and snow that something had to give. Good thing the plastic clip was designed to just sink in without any damage, all I had to do is take the clip off, reposition the liner and re-install the clip.

I'd say go with Eibach if you get decent amounts of snow during winter just to be safe. You get a good balance of performance and looks vs practicality and comfort.

Is TRD lower than Eibach? I thought it was the other way around.

Yeah, I thought TRD is slight drop and Eibach is mild drop.

Yes, Eibach are a bit lower. I think that the TRD are still really comfortable. If I'd have to re pick springs btw TRD and eibach I'd choose eibach for a tiny bit more drop and wouldnt bother for the 0.5 in difference.

Eibach is lower than TRD

to answer the OP, I have TRDs and would have had trouble with a lower drop.

In terms of snow and extreme winter condition, I think I am the best suited one to answer this question. Go do a search on Edmonton Alberta Canada and you will know why. I have tried s tech, it is just way too low for daily driving around my city, i was scraping everywhere. winter can only be worst, especially with the kind of snow we get. I quickly switched to TRD and it has been good for me through out the whole winter. Thx god, winter is finally over and roads are clear again.

Sum up, if you are going to deal with snowy road in the winter, I will only pick the TRD. And please do yourself a favor, get a nice set of winter tires.

I say it depends on what you do when it snows and where you draw the line to when you decide to not drive the car.

Im lowered on eibachs and an inch of snow on the ground, no problem for me. its when I start to plow snow with the front end where I draw the line.

Buffalo gets their fair amount of snow...I travel the thruway from Syracuse to buffalo for work and have the eibachs...no issues since they keep this road fairly clean when it snows...I don't complain about the tolls. I have to agree with the others here....don't go lower than eibach & snow tires make a HUGE difference. Good luck in your decision.
