To be honest with you, all the SRI is 90% identical in design and not one of them will give you noticeable gain over the others. I will suggest you to go for the cheapest one that you can find. People like the K & N is because it has a heat shield, people think it will block hot air from the engine directly hitting the filter. To me, it is bull....when the car is moving, fresh, cold air is rush into the engine bay, air is not too hot anyways. And air can pass through gaps easily, not to mention the heat shield only covers a section of the engine bay. So heat shield will slow down the volume of hot air directly flow to the filter, but not block.
And if you are worrying about hot air issue, go for CAI.
I love my Takeda. I bought it for these 4 reasons & I took months deciding among all the choices.
1. Dry filter
2. Heat shield
3. Uses stock CAI to help some cooler air swirl around the air filter within the heat shield
4. Looks the best

If you're asking for opinions from here you'll be swayed towards the Takeda overwhelmingly. And with good reason. It's a great product with some great pros as Jim mentioned above.
I went with a Dragon intake. I was set on the Takeda at first but when I started looking more and more at the different brands/models I decidedd that no matter which one I put on there it's still a 1.8 L engine and realistically we're just not going to see that much of a gain either way. I quit worrying so much about the actual intake and started reading about the filters. A tube is a tube is a tube pretty much. The Dragon filter gets good reviews for the air flow it allows in. I decided that it was fine for me and saved me a chunk of change. They've got the Ram Air Kit / Filter Heat Shield you can get for it which basically turns it into a CAI (kind of).
All that being said I do really really like that the Takeda's filter is Dry. I just couldn't justify the extra cost. Just my $.02.

So salty, yet so true. I'm not a huge fan of the spectre filter due to its size, but ice owned k&ns on my other cars and there isn't much difference there. Although k&n sounds much much better. I may eventually just chane the entire intake if I get the money I'm looking for from my accident. If that's the case, I may go with dragon. I saw it months back and now that someone has one and says good things, I have more of a good feeling about it now

i would do as many do here and remove the baffle...pop in a high flow filter...and suck cold air from under the car. im planning on doing it when i get some time.
If someone could tell me some really specific "things" to do to test out the Dragon intake I'd be more than happy to do so. I know it's way more air flow. It seems to sit at lower RPMs when I'm using cruise control on my daily drive down the freeway which seems to tell me I'm getting slightly better performance at lower RPMs. Right? It's minimal but it's there.
intake mod + K&N filter = same outcome for only $50
Why waste money on a piece of stainless pipe with a logo on it, our engines only need so much air to create that mind blowing 132 hp
yeah, it's not the same AT ALL!!! Sounds SO NICE and does add much more punch with a true intake. Just keep your eyes open and pounce when you get a nice deal. I got mine for $170 and would do it again in a heartbeat!
I have a drop in K&N just sitting in my garage now and don't feel bad about it at all as the Takeda BLOWS IT AWAY

+1
I couldn't agree more Greg, & the Takeda looks so much better which is worth it to me. I take "pride in my ride" so looks also matter.

I would honestly love to see some dyno results comparing the two set ups. Yea, the takeda has more filter surface area and has a nice tone, but for another $100 is it worth the 1 extra horsepower you might, just might get. I don't have a ton of cash to drop in my rolla so I consider cost vs. Performance gain in every purchase I make. I could care less about looks because I'm not trying to showcase my 1.8 engine bay. Instead of dropping more cash into a new intake I'm waiting to see how that header mid pipe combo turns out. I'm praying for a 10hp gain so It will be worth the money.
Just the sound is worth it IMO. Sounds GREAT!! My mom said she likes my car more than the 2010 Challenger we have at our house now after driving it home for storage in the garage.
