my day...

I am currently sitting on the side of the road awaiting a tow truck. I mentioned before I had an issue with my shifter. I was driving normally when I shifted into second and heard a crunch. I shifted softer to third and.fourth then it.just gave out. my car won't go into neutral. It just moves freely between.third and 4th. obviously not shifting just moving with no resistance. This better be covered by Toyota plus the tow.
I'll keep you updated

That does suck.

If you look at how many 10th gen Corolla owners are here on TN which reflects a fraction of the overall ownership in North America, I don't know if there are many instances (1st one I have heard of) of this happening. I don't think this a big indicator of Toyota quality IMO.

The downside is there is only 1 cable in the country, located in texas. I was told it would be a week. The good news is I have a brand new Hyundai Tuscon which is surprisingly nice.

Sorry to hear about your predicament, RJ..... Actually, a situation like yours is why I bought my new Corolla. My 1994 Saturn's 5-speed shifter totally disengaged 15 miles from home -- had to drive it through various tough traffic situations for over an hour in 1st gear.
Good luck.....
