I have the same. If temp is set say 23 C, and ambient temp is higher, re-circ, auto and a/c will be on. Car is trying to maintain 23 C as set.
If you do not want the a/c on then you have to set temp higher, set mode manually to your choice and may have to manually turn the auto and a/c off. It's quite reliable.
One thing though. If mode set to feet and defrost, a/c will run even if a/c light is not lit. Seems it's so cold air will go to defost windows.
