hey guys im wondering if you could help me out as im new to tn and this is my first car (09 le, 39k miles,"certified" used). now this might sound stupid but a little while ago i was cleaning the engine bay and noticed i had some coolant spray all over my hood,i thought i had a cracked house but couldn't find anything, i also installed a trd radiator cap but i still have some coolant spray. is this normal?
You say you recently bought it as a certified used car, then most likely it is covered under the dealer's warranty and they should fix it at no cost, per the terms of the certified used car warranty. Don't let anyone tell you that coolant spray under the hood is normal.
This happened to me too, turned out to be a bad water pump and was replaced under warranty. The coolant level in the tank was actually moving quite a bit too. Have it checked out

oh man that sounds serious, i let the engine run for a while, nothing came out, it drives fine and all it doesn't overheat. i also see my coolant level drop but never drastically, sometimes its a little below the full line and sometimes its at or slightly above the full line, you think this really is the water pump as you say?
I've heard that the coolant level in that tank can move slightly depending on temperature, could be wrong though. But if there is spray, it might be worth having it looked at anyway as I doubt it is normal.

clean the coolant spray, and keep an eye on it. it might have been just spray when someone opened the rad cap while the coolant was hot. if you see coolant again, make sure to get it taken care of.

i've done that, it sprays again after a long drive with specs of coolant on the drive belt, hood, and around the radiator cap area, its gotten a bit better after installing a trd radiator cap. maybe im getting too high of a psi coming through the rad. cap ?
i had the same problem, coolant sprays all over the place on the passenger side. Had to change the water pump. and after that there was no more coolant in my engine/hood area. this happened right after my 3 year warranty was up

Too high pressure will be released to the overflow tank.
I too suspect a bad water pump. Keep an eye on it.
i wonder if my warranty will cover everything? (im broke ) its up to 60k miles, i just got the car as a gift a couple months ago.btw; thanks for the replies you guys have been real helpful

Like blb said. If it's a certified used, it'll be covered. Just to be safe, call them and ask first.

Water pump is covered under the 5 year, 60,000 mile warranty - see your owner's manual warranty guide.
