USA 09 Corolla No Sound, but HU working fine, HELP!!??

I have an '09 Corolla S with the non-JBL sound system, 6 disk in-dash changer and 6 speakers. I am getting no sound from the speakers except a small burst of static when I turn the ignition on and once in a while sporadic static. The Radio is still playing CD's, FM, Etc, but no sound. All fuses are good and the clock works. I disconnected the factory iPod interface and still nothing. I also tried a different aftermarket HU, but still no sound... I'm on the road all the time so I'm over 50,000k and there is no warranty left on the radio. I've never had this problem before and hope that someone can give me some insight. I've also torn the dash out checking wires and connections and can't seem to find anything abnormal. Any help would be much appreciated as a 4+ hour drive is VERY long with no tunes.

first of all to TN! I live in the same neighborhoodl! I've been hoping to have some more local members join us here on TN.

As far as the radio issue, that is strange since it didn't work with a different HU either. Have you stopped by Car Toys to see what they think? I just had them install a new Rosen HU for me in my 09 Corolla S.

Cool! I'm right by Costco on Andresen... I read your post with the pics of the Rosen HU, VERY NICE!! If I add a NAV system later that's the one I want. This is my third Corolla and I've never had any problems with the radio before.

You've tried 2 radios and neither worked? Are you 100% sure the 2nd was wired in correctly? I would initially have assumed that the amp in the original was broken, but for two to not work there are nearly 0 variables left. You've only got wires and speakers, and certainly a set of positive and negative to one speaker would have been hooked up correctly!

We will have to meet up sometime soon. The radios are made by another company but if different radios are still having issues it has to be something else. Just make sure that the other radios are hooked up correctly. I've never had any issues with any Toyota radio although I usually just install a better aftermarket HU anyway.

The other radio was definately wired in right and I thought the same thing, that the amp was broken in the factory stereo... I can't afford to take it in for diagnosis right now, but I might have to do that next if I can't figure it out. Thanks!

For a cheap fix you could always have a single din HU installed for around $100 just to have music until you could figure out what was going on.
