i know that the current corolla came out in 09 and was refreshed for 2011. cars do get remodeled maybe every 4-6 years. Does Toyota have any plans on when they will be coming out with a new corolla. any spy pics or anything. it has been 3 years. i have about 3 years left on my loan. so i was hoping when i get it payed off there will be a new corolla for me to think about
Not sure about when, I am thinking 2014. We all hope Toyota is taking meticulous notes of their competitors. Where they once lead the pack in fuel economy, power and quality now there are some serious competition from import and domestic companies that frankly beat Toyota on every front IMO. Now time will tell how these cars are in the longer term as well as for Toyota, but for now Toyota has its work cut out for them.
This is not to say I don't like my car, because I do, but advances are being made in the automotive world more quickly now (it seems) that can make a good car look not so good in short order.

It used to be every 5 years for the 6th, 7th and 8th generations.
The 9th generation lasted 6 years, delayed mainly because the redesigned 2006 Civic caught Toyota off guard.
With that said, if Toyota brings a redesign in a 5 year period, it's a good sign. But it it's a mere refresh treatment like what the Avalon got, start worrying.

I personally hope they come out with a new Corolla sooner rather than later, just because it can't really compare to the competition at all anymore (unless you want a base model).
As for the Avy, just heard that a new one is in the works to come out in a year or so

I can already see what toyota is going to do with the next gen corolla. As usual, the corolla is a platform for toyota to get rid of left over engines.
I predict the followings:
The next gen XRS is going to get the 2.5L from the Camry/Rav 4
Then the rest of the line up will use either the same 1.8L or the 2.0L valvematic engine from europe/asia.
^We don't have the XRS in the US, they discontinued it for 2011.
Oh it will be back in the US...eventually. The XRS in Canada will most likely go on for only a year more and then be gone here too. Just like they discontinued it for gen 9 Corollas in 2005 (getting rid of all the extra 1.8L vvtL-i engines from the Celica), they just have the Corolla/Matrix XRS line long enough to get rid of the excess engines from various vehicles before bringing the new ones on line.
thestone11...I agree.

They discontinued the 9th gen XRS in 2006. Not 2005.

How about a XRS-t? A turbo would be awesome (assuming Toyota can design a good one). I don't really see it, though. I'll probably just have to make my own

Only, I think it's hurting the Corolla in the US, not having the XRS. There's the Civic Si, the MazdaSpeed3...and Toyota has.....
