Touchscreen Double-DIN Stereo Replacement Questions

I'm thinking about replacing my stock HU with a Double-DIN unit from Eonon.com along with a Reverse Camera.

I'm open to options from other manufacturers!!!

1)How do reverse camera inputs sense that it is in "Reverse" without any hookups from OBD2 ports or the shifter area? Does the Wiring for headunits already include and emit that information?

2) How did you hookup your reverse cam... Drilling or mounting? The camera is black, so i should probably spray paint it white to match my car if i end up going the mounting route, any tips?

3) I heard somewhere that most of these DVD player/GPS HU's are just Windows CE or some variant operating system... so it might be possible to swap out the GPS software on certain units, is that true that the UI for the HU's simply points to an SD card directory and launches that specific GPS software?

4) Not that i have the JBL system, but, i suppose since these units only have 4x audio outputs, they wouldn't work with the 6 speaker JBL system right?

5) Does anyone have experience with Eonon units and how they work with our steering wheel controls?

6) And does anyone have experience with the boot-up times on Eonon (Or other) Units (pioneer, boss, etc) , What can i expect from start-up to ready to listen?

1) Camera is activated by power from reverse light.
2) Some are mounted on rear number plate light. Replacing one of the lights. There are others.
3) Have not tried.
4) I have 6 speaker system non JBL. Just plug and play.
5) I do not have steering wheel control.
6) 5-10 sec. Not Eonon.

I recently purchased a Rosen HU. I do have the JBL 8 speaker system & Rosen was the only HU that I found that had an adapter to work with the JBL amplifier. It sounds great, works well, fantastic GPS unit & looks OEM. I'm very happy with the HU & it seems to be very well built.

Whoa i've never heard of Rosen's system (or rather, have not found them ).
After some digging, i'm really liking it! Looks and all

It seems these are only available from local shops, and that might mean tax and Install fee's

You could install it for free by yourself & they are available on Amazon for a lot less than Crutchfield.
