Ready to buy a Corolla but...

There's that hump by the gas pedal that's bugging me...if I rest my heel against it I can't depress the pedal comfortably especially when merging onto the highway, and if I rest my heel on it my foot sits too high.

I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and would greatly appreciate any tips/advice.

Thanks!

Here are some pics...

Never even noticed it. I've never jhad any issue with my foot position on the gas pedal. I've had my 09 Corolla S with a 5M for 2 1/2 years & 28k miles too.

Hmmm...wondering if it's just a current model year thing. What's weird is I've test driven the car quite a few times (2011 S and LE auto) and just recently noticed it. Hoping to hear from some '11 owners out there.

Only issue with that is a little wear in my floormat right were that spot is, most likely due to the boots I have to wear, other than that, never had any problems.
Get a Corolla, I'm on my 2nd one, had a 2002 LE before my 2010 S, I grew up with Toyotas, first one my parents had was a 1987 Corolla hatchback that lasted forever.

some nice floor mats or Husky weatherbeaters/Weathertech digitally fit floor mats are great for this.

Not a problem at all. I'm as picky as they come with my new Corolla, and this isn't an issue!

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm planning on renting one for a few days and see how it works out. Dealer also said I could take it for an extended (24hr) test drive so I have that option as well. I also like the idea of using the all-weather floor mats - that should help.

keep us posted what happens! Even after reading this I didn't notice it, thought for sure I'd find it and get all pissed off. Maybe it's the Husky Weatherbeaters, but those were not always in the car. Either way I think it'll grow on you and/or forget about it and LOVE the car.
