Standard Waranty

So I have the regular waranty that you get from toyota i have the tire waranty to and a week or so ago I jumped the curb to avoide hitting an idiot that slamed on his breaks and the left front tire was flat and bent the rim... so i put on the spare and took it to the dealership to be told that the tire waranty doesn't cover curb damage... so i got it fixed and now its making a weird almost slight grinding noise like the theres some balls rolling around like a shhhh as i turn right and I'm trying to figure out what it is. My friend says that i could have bent the axle as well.

So anyway long story short I'm wondering if the axle is bent would this be covered under the waranty or how much do you think this repair could end up costing...

Warranties are usually for factory defects. They are not for accidents etc. If you fixes it in a dealer then go back and mention that it making noises. You need to claim that it is still not fix.

Nothing is covered under warranty if you damaged it.. Soo in your case your pretty much SOL.

Warranty pretty much coveres anything that breaks that isnt supposed to.. For instance brake pads wouldnt be covered under warranty but warped rotors would depending on the situation IE 2 week old car with warped rotors shouldnt happen..

Take you car back to the dealer and ask them to check the axle.

Also you calling the person an idiot because he slammed on the brakes is pretty harsh.. Since your the one thats supposed to keep a safe distance, if he were to slam on the brakes due to an emergency situation..

sounds like you need a new cv-axle. the "balls" you hear rolling around are actually the ball-bearings in your axle. hopefully it was just axle damage and nothing inside the transxle.

thanks for the help guys. I'm gonna be taking it to the dealer after work today. Hopefully it won't be to terribly expensive to fix. I am definately going to be watching how close I get from now on. I can't afford this again...
