My XRS is around 32K, and the clutch started to squeak today...has anyone experienced this? Just wanted to know whether it would be an easy fix like blasting some WD40 or something that my dealer should address...thanks

Most likely just the spring but you could always have the dealer verify it.

Heh, mine just crossed 36k and I noticed mine squeaks going into or out of 2nd.

Same here....IMO, it is the shifter cable under the hood. I can duplicate the same noise when the car is turned off, without depressing the clutch and move the shifter around, usually it is into and out of 2nd gear.

I noticed it a couple of times when i went to a drive through and i was going to put it in first to get going it squeaked and i pumped the clutch again and it would do it until i got driving again it went away. Doesn't happen a lot though.

My clutch sounds like something out of an old pickup truck. The shifter cable also developed a squeak mostly going into 2nd, but also 4th after a while. My dealer lubed the shifter cable and it's been good since.

The 9th gens had a squeaky clutch issue with the 1.8L...not that its the same set up in the Xrs's or anything,

so far, the noise has gone away...I think it was actually the pedal that made the noise.
