my 96 Corolla had front window tinted pretty dark, wanna say it was 30%, maybe even 25%. I had no problems at all. Bought the car from a friend that way. I would have never done that, not worth the ticket. Was nice though.
Here is my tint for ya: 35% charcoal all the way

I'm going to get an estimate for tint on my car today. I want to get the darkest I can legally get, considering Texas tinting laws.
I kind of regret getting the S with the black interior (kidding, my dad jokingly gave me a hard time about not getting the Capri Sea Metallic Corolla LE with the beige interior and hubcaps), but I LOVE the S models looks and the blue color!
Its warming up in Texas, getting tired of the car being super hot inside.

I stopped by a tint shop next to my apartment yesterday, quoted $150 + tax for my car, I can also download a $5 off coupon. They LLumar for their window tint. So let me pose this question; is $145 a bit much?

What kind of tint? Dyed, Metallic, Ceramic??? Without knowing what kind of tint it's hard to say if the price is good or not.
Didn't find that out, I noticed the LLumar sign on the door as I was leaving. I got a sketchy vibe from the place, its right next to a big used car lot in a bit of a sketchy part of the town. It shares a warehouse building with a tire installer and there was no formal office, just a desk and a couple of couches on one side and the rest was open. Told them I just wanted an estimate and he tried to get me to go ahead and get the tinting. I asked what percentage tint they do and they said they follow state regulations (didn't tell me the percentage).
I know the Toyota dealership in my town offers window tinting and I'm due up for an oil change anyways, give me a reason to stop over.
