2010 Corolla S / JBL / A2DP bluetooth

I recently purchased a 2010 Corolla S with the JBL soundsystem, which has the audio controls and bluetooth (phone) controls on the steering wheel.

The included bluetooth doesn't stream a2dp audio, so I bought a cheepy $50 scosche adapter that I plug into my aux and stream bluetooth audio through that. Problem is, I'd like to be able to control my ipod through the head unit/steering wheel (just next/previous song, I can already control the audio).

A few questions:
1) This isn't possible on the current system, correct ? Just making sure there's something I'm not missing
2) I've been reading about blulogic. Can this do this ? Could I control song via the steering wheel, or would it only be through one of the unused button places on the head unit ?
3) Would the toyota dealer install this ? How much is it to install ? How hard is it to install yourself ?
4) For anyone who has the S with the included bluetooth, and has installed BluLogic, is the phone quality any better? Any worse ?
5) Are there any other options ?

1 - Nope, not possible. You can simply stream audio.
2 - BluLogic really isn't anything special. Yes, you can stream audio through your device, but my main complaint is that it only plays through the front speakers. It's a deal-killer.
3 - The stealership could install it for you, but not without a rather large payment. Your soul should do nicely - if you're not willing to give it up, simply use your house as collateral. (It's not actually hard to install yourself, but you're better off with your JBL Bluetooth.)
4 - I have the BluLogic system. Other than the fact that streaming audio only plays over the front speakers, I absolutely love it. Clear call quality, great interface - it even takes up the blank switch area on your dash!
5 - Your best option without a new headunit: an iPod interface kit. It does exactly what you're looking for, lets you control your music from the headunit and steering wheel, while also giving you semi-quick access to your entire library AND charging your iPod at the same time. Even better is that you can wire the system to wherever you want, so you can have the iPod plug in your glove-box, center console, or wherever else in the cabin you'd like to keep it safe and out of view.

To make your life easy, here's a link to a Toyota-branded iPod kit on what's possibly the single-best Toyota Accessories dealer on the internet, TRD Sparks!

I have the iPod kit from Toyota, and while I can't guarantee it's the exact same as this, it does pretty well. It can be tricky to navigate through your library if you have thousands of songs as I do, but you can pretty much just let the system shuffle through as it wishes and forget about it. It also allows you to choose playlists, artists, or specific genres (all from the headunit) if you so wish.

Pretty easy to install, too. TRDSparks even has the instructions right there on the page - just look to the right!

Good luck bro, and welcome to TN btw. =P

The Toyota iPod interface doesn't work with the JBL HU. I also had the JBL system & I only found one iPod interface that worked with it. I still have it if you would like to buy it. I paid $190 for it but PM me & we can discuss a good price. I bought a new Rosen HU that also has iPod control so I don't need it anymore.

^ What Jim said, I've got the standard 6-speaker system that comes with the Sport package.
