I have had my Corolla S about 6 months now and I don't really drive it any more than "normal", but I have been picking up a LOT of rock chips and other "road rash" kinds of marks on the front of the car on the bumper and hood.
I can use touch up paint and buff a lot of it out once and a while, but I don't know how long and how often I want to do that. I am a big neat freak and keep my car very clean, but lets face it, its not a Ferrari! haha
I am thinking about putting on one of those 3M clear bras to protect the front of the car, but before I do that, I wanted to see if anyone else out there had done this and did the installation themselves, or if they paid someone to do it?
Difference in cost? And really any advice you have for someone thinking about it that might take a crack at applying it themselves if it is simple enough to do!
there are a bunch on here with it, i believe 99%, if not all, paid someone to do it.
The only thing I can say is make sure the car's paint is as close to 100% as you can get before basically sealing in whatever defects there are.
btw:

Best bet would be to wait for Jim (SuperChargedMR2) to chime in, he has plenty of 3M vinyl protection all over his Corolla, I believe he got it installed at his tint shop.
IMO, If I was to add the 3M bra, I would make sure my paint, hood, front bumper are in perfect condition. But I can't cause I have chips already

I had my clear bra installed days after I bought my 09 Corolla S. I had them cover the hood, bumper, headlights, side skirts & side mirrors. I have tried to do it but it's a PITA & left for those that know what they are doing. I also have a clear bra on my 07 Matrix & 10 Prius.
I would highly recommend one but I would get all of the visible chips repaired first.

I paid between $450-$600 for each of the cars. I paid $600 for the Prius because I had the entire hood covered for a little more money.
