New 2009 Corolla type S

I recently just purchased my new 2009 Corolla type S it's a nice vehicle overall but I mainly bought it for gas purposes. However, now I'm tempted to modify it and add a little speed to it to see how it does. The downside is that it is automatic so it might be a bit silly to install new parts but I'm stuck with this car for the next 4 years so I might as well have a little fun with it. Any suggestions on how I could do so?

Congratulations on the purchase! I'm sure you'll find many mods to tinker with in this forum.

You can find plenty here in these two threads.

Don't be scared that its an automatic. Means in a drag race you wont have to worry about missing a shift

Most drag cars now are automatic or similar to one because if the driver misses a shift its bye bye motor.

Sorry, I don't see a TYPE-S here. Toyota forum here, not Honda/Acura.

It is called a Corolla S, not type S.

I heard the guy at the dealer keep calling it a type S so it got stuck to me, my fault for the misinterpretation. I'll just call it a Corolla S now yeah I guess an automatic isn't too bad. Any ways to add some horsepower to this 5-speed?

For the '09 Automatic its a 4-Speed

As for adding horsepower, I believe Weapon-R has some for the 1.8 Corolla's, as well as adding an intake and new exhaust. Don't expect too much horsepower, you'll mostly just get sound. If your really looking for power, consider a different car or enter the F/I world
