Custom Alignment vs Regular Alignment

After lowering with springs. Did you guys have to get a custom alignment or did you guys just align it regularly?

Apparently the guy said with the custom alignment, he might have to get extra parts in order to align it? and its friggin 90 bucks an hour.... he said it might take 3 - 4 hours. I feel like I'm just getting ripped I don't know.

TRD springs are the ones I got btw.

Just get a regular alignment and have the car set to OEM specs. Anything more is overkill for mild lowering springs.

Hit up al tech automotive in etobicoke if you're out in the west end or level auto if you're in the east end.

I would be wary of this custom alignment unless it includes corner balancing. Mainly just needed if you have full coilovers and track the car a lot.

I didnt need an alignment with my TRD drop. Been over a year and no issues at all and steering is perfect... unless the dealership did it during a maint. check or something (unlikely)

Okay, yeah I thought so too. Thanks for the recommendation, I think I'm going to the east-end one. Do you know how much roughly it will cost?

EDIT:
Actually, I'll just give them a call.

@ FlawedLEgacy:
Aw man really? You don't feel anything at all? But I heard that if you don't get it aligned there will be uneven tire wear.

I'm with Flawed. I have same trds on with no alignment and its feels fine. No drifting, runs straight and true with newish tires on.

The cost of an alignment is nothing compared to the cost of replacing tires when they wear out prematurely.

You won't know it's out of alignment until you get the car up on a rack and have it checked.

It's definitely not something you can skip.

When I lowered mine of TRD I got an alignment after 2 weeks, including a trip on one of the roughest road of NB, and it was of course it was off alignment. Got it done at the dealer at no cost (for the 1st year and only once), but their regular rate is like 100 or 103$.

Dealership is fine if you don't mind paying more expensive prices.

Some of the shops I listed use newer more advanced equipment and give you a printout outlining specs before and after the work is done so you get a better idea of what was out of whack before aligning it.

+1 I had mine aligned after I installed my TRD springs & the toe was off. I had it checked after putting my Eibach springs on too & it needed adjusting again with the lower springs.
