2011 Corolla , accelerating fast on steep hills

I have 2011 Corolla. 600 km odometer reading.
it's accelerating fast on steep hills
When i have speed 100-110 km/h, RPM is 2400-2600.
The same as on my old 2005 Corolla.
After realizing accelerating pedal, RPM go down very slowly.
A few minutes to get 2000 RPM and 80km/h speed
On 2005 speed drop to 80km/h in 30sec.
Feels like little cruise control.
Is it normal, or I should go to dealer?
Thank you.

From the data you have provided, I would say it actually is decelerating rather than accelerating down the hill. Without knowing how steep the hill is, what kind of transmission the car has it seems pretty normal. Next time you go down this hill put the instantaneous fuel consumption on the readout on the dash and if it reads 0.0L/100km your fuel is cut and you are essentially engine braking as much as possible.

Cruise control would maintain speed, not allow you to slow down as you have illustrated.

I think he means his new car is decelerating less quickly than his old car. This could be due to many things, especially wear and tear slowing the old car down.

I'd imagine better aerodynamics could be allowing the newer car to coast better.

Better bearings with less wear and tear as BLiT pointed out.

It should also be heavier than the 2005 as well, meaning it could carry more momentum making it resistant to a sudden drop in speed.

Thank you all,
Yes, it's decelerating, when I removed my foot from pedal, fuel go to
2.0-4.0 L for 100km. But RPM go down very slow only with speed 80km/h and up.
Looks like computer decelerating car slowly only on high speed

You must have a auto transmission.
10 gen Corolla's auto have engine braking. When going downhill, you lift off pedal, the wheel then drives the engine causing revs to go up. Just like on a standard when shifting to a lower gear to slow car on entering a corner.

ikolenchenko, your slow deceleration seems to be another "normal" for the 2011 Corolla. Mine does the very same thing, and others have reported this too in this forum (I "think" it was this Toyota forum). Example: I have this slight hill near my home, and at 60MPH and taking foot off the accelerator, it takes at least a quarter mile to get down to 55 MPH, or therabouts. I've quit worrying about this "normal" behavior too!
