OEM Remote with Aftermarket Alarm System

Im looking into getting a basic alarm system installed without the need for adding another remote to my already bundled key ring.

Been looking into Can Bus OEM Security Upgrade Systems and found this: http://www.xpresskit.com/product.aspx?productid=27 I know theres others like the

brand but not sure on the quality.

Suggestion on these or any other alarm system types that can work with the factory key fob?

Worst case you can just use the valet key and get a aftermarket fob..

I'm getting one installed soon from Car Toys that uses my OEM key fob. Not sure of the brand but they said it was made for this purpose so I'm going to have it done.

^ most probably a CAN BUS system as they're designed to work with factory fob. Should be fairly cheap as less wires are connected to the factory wiring. Please do let me know what they put in: Brand name/Model. Or a review of it would be sweet

i bought a viper alarm and just had that installed.

if you want to use the factory stuff, you have to get the automate AM1 or something like that.

automate am1 uses the factory keyfob.

viper and all those other companies are owned by DEI (DIRECTED) anyways...

it cost me about 120 total for the alarm and install. its a BASIC alarm, dont think too much of it.

Yeah that's what I'm looking for, just a basic system. Does it have a warn-away system or just goes all out when it senses a knock?

yep it has warn-away with light knocks and goes all out if it senses it for too long. but sensitivity can be adjusted via DEI bitwriter
