So today my aux port stopped working. I don't think the basic warranty will cover it since my car has 37000 miles. Power train warranty is still valid i'm sure. So my question is should I ask my dealer if they would still cover it ? Or should I buy a new one ? Anyone knows websites that sell that particular replacement part since i really don't want to spend lots $$$$ at the dealership.

Sounds like a good time to get a new H/U with an iPod connection so that you don't have to deal with the AUX port anymore.

You sure though that the problem is solely the AUX port and not the radio?
Yeah because the aux mode works occasionally when im lucky and when I sometimes move the aux wire the radio switches back to CD mode. HAHA the aux cable broke inside the aux jack before so i took apart the port to take out the broken piece and from that day its starts working worse and worse as the days goes by. But yeah shoot me your asking price !
walk into the service department of the dealer and see if they'd fix it. probably not since you took it apart. but if they say no, walk over 10 feet and order the part.
i have an aftermarket head unit and still use the aux port. i can even stream via bluetooth, usb and have an ipod connection. and until I find a cassette player that i can stream via bluetooth or something i'll continue to use my aux port.
my AUX port used to work fine but lately it'll work sometimes if Im lucky. I thought it was the cord so I bought a new one, but it still did not fix the problem. I have to wiggle the cord a bit to get it to work. But most of the time itll just switch back to CD. Whats the cheapest way to fix this problem? or should i just ask the dealership? It really gets annoying, even just one little tap on the wire will make it switch back to CD. Is anyone else having this problem on there 09 corolla?

Once I had an iPod connection for charging & iPod control I never used my AUX port. I love just leaving my iPod connected & out of sight from any prying eyes. Plus the direct connection sounds better than the AUX port can ever sound.

UPDATE: Well I called the dealer and they said since my car has 37000 miles warranty isn't covered anyways. I asked shaoooolin (the black corolla with coilovers and rota grids) if i can have his since he has a double din unit so hes willing to do a swap with me. Problem solved guys.
