Canada Toyota corolla maintenance.

So i called my dealer to get some maintenance done on my corolla. given my car was approaching 30000 KM. He recommended replacing my break pads and air filter... Im not sure if my break pads needs to be replaced yet i don't hear any squeaking or anything. what should i do ? the total cost for maintenance will be around 300 bucks if i get all those parts replaced, i don't feel like paying that unless its absolutely necessary

Check your pads yourself, just remove the front tires & check the pad thickness. The pads are easy to replace if needed. You can easily replace the air filter too. Save your money & do it yourself, parts would be less than $100.

I replaced my front brake pads at 64000 km. No noise from them OEM parts IIRC C$75. and wiper inserts C$10. Air filter after 18 months. Cabin filter (home depot) every 6 months.
My driving habit is average.
Replacing pads at 30000 km is a bit premature. Dealer can charge you for this being a wear item but you don't have to do it. Tell them not now. Maybe next service.

One quick and easy way to tell if your pads are worn is to look at your brake fluid level beside looking at the pads. The lower the fluid, the more the pads are worn.

New brake pads at 30000 kms? Mine are still going strong after 75,000 kms. Go to another dealer.

I have over 115,000 kms on my brakes with very little wear...I drive a lot of highway and don't brake much in the city though...

The OP did not indicate what year the vehicle is. Didn't the 09's have a TSB for premature brakewear with Toyota picking up the tab? If you need new pads at 30K you prob have a problem.
