Where to put the GPS? And a question on the compartment above glovebox
So I just bought a 2010 Corolla, and I came from a 93 Cherokee. I was wondering where people put their GPS's? The windshield is quite a bit further away than my old Jeep, so it sort of blocks my vision.. Where do you put it? Also, how do you manage the power cord?
ALSO, the compartment above the glovebox, does anyone else get annoyed with the hard plastic interior? I tried putting some stuff in there, but anytime I don't take a turn REALLY carefully, the stuff slides around. Not only is it loud, but I noticed small scrapes in there now!! What do you do??

Thanks for you input!!
I installed my portable GPS on the lower left portion of the windshield. I ran the power cable under my Dashmat to the plug. It worked great, but the best way is to get an in dash GPS HU.

haha well the top compartment seems more like a "glove box" then the bottom so i actually have gloves in there and sun glasses. the gloves stop it from sliding side to side.

Oooh! That looks nice! Where did you get that mat? Do you like it? What is it used for? And I would LOVE to get an in dash GPS... But they are ALL so expensive! lol.

Cool! Did you get a toyota specific one, or just a generic one? I was thinking of rigging one into the square hole will be when I pull out that aux input near the bottom of the dash, since the aftermarket radio I put in already has all of that.

lol! I guess that's one way to fix it! I will probably end up having my gloves in there too. Good solution. Thanks!

Woah! I'd have to try that out.. Do you just not use it with a power cord then?
Thanks everyone for the responses!! Keep em coming. Pics go a long way as well.

I wou'ld like to know about the mat too
I found a site and was thinking of ordering it from the but kinda scared ... it looks legit and have paypal so ...
Regarding the upper glove box, I put some black anti-slip matting in mine and it works great. You can buy it in most craft stores and hardware stores and it comes in a variety of colors. It is a rubberized matting mostly used for shelf lining in motor homes. No adhesive or glue required
Yeah those glove box lights are nice to have. i found it hard to look for stuff at night even with the dome/map lights on coz that top lid blocks any incoming light. Move to Cali lol. Mod bug is biting you a little there huh
