09 corolla airbag light on

My airbag light came on the other day for no reason and I looked online and found that it has a code 51(clock spring malfunction)...Anyone familiar with this, i already took the airbag off to look for loose conections or anything fried but it all looks good....Also if I do buy the clockspring and put it in, how do i reset the freakin light....I went to my dealer and my car has 68k miles on it so they wont cover it....Im mechanically inclined so this looks like an easy fix and they want $$$$ at the stealership...thx

A new clock spring will run you about $200 and has a 19 mm bolt that will need to be removed.

Have you tried disconnecting the battery, waiting for 5 minutes, and then reconnecting it again?

yep already tried disconnecting the batt for about 15 min and no luck.....
